We are a nonprofit organization bringing training, tools and equipment to collaborations around the world to help rescue at-risk historical environmental data to save lives in this changing world. We do this so information about our past can help today’s powerful computer models protect the lives of those most at risk before these historical records are lost forever through neglect and disaster.
NOAA is a scientific agency of the United States federal government responsible for monitoring our climate and our environment and taking steps to preserve them. NOAA’s mission to better understand our natural world and help protect its precious resources extends beyond national borders to monitor global weather and climate, and work with partners around the world.
The National Weather Service is an agency of the United States federal government that is tasked with providing weather forecasts, warnings of hazardous weather, and other weather-related products to organizations and the public for the purposes of protection, safety, and general information.
NCEI provides environmental data, products, and services covering the depths of the ocean to the surface of the sun to drive resilience, prosperity, and equity for current and future generations.
NCEI archives and makes freely available environmental data from over sixty countries. It has been the recipient of images and digitized data recovered during IEDRO’s past projects and thus is a critical partner to its work.
The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations. It is the UN system’s authoritative voice on the state and behavior of the Earth’s atmosphere, its interaction with the oceans, the climate it produces and the resulting distribution of water resources.
The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations that leads international efforts to defeat hunger.
The international Atmospheric Circulation Reconstructions over the Earth (ACRE) initiative both undertakes and facilitates the recovery of historical instrumental surface terrestrial and marine global weather observations to underpin 3D weather reconstructions (reanalyses) spanning the last 200-250 years for climate applications and impacts needs worldwide. All of the historical surface weather data and the reanalyses are freely available.
Climate Services Partnership is a network of climate information users, providers, donors, and researchers. Their goal is to help society cope with current climate variability and limit the economic and social damage caused by climate-related disaster.
The Copernicus Climate Change Service combines observations of the climate system with the latest science to develop authoritative, quality-assured information about the past, current and future states of the climate in Europe and worldwide.
The mission of the International Research Institute for Climate and Society of Columbia University is to enhance society’s capability to understand, anticipate and manage the impacts of climate in order to improve human welfare and the environment, especially in developing countries.

CCCEM’s mission is to raise awareness, encouraging and undertaking action oriented initiatives that promote sustainable climate change, natural resources and environment management practices that uplift the livelihood and social economic development of all in Malawi and beyond. CCCEM tackles the meteorological aspects of climate change, natural resources and environmental management.
IEDRO partners closely with Summit Business Technologies in creating technology solutions for preserving and digitizing environmental data. The firm is headquartered in Millersville, MD and provides local IT support to the greater DC metro area and remote support services to clients around the world.
